New to Visual Novels

For those of you that are brand new to the Visual Novel world. Read this article on Wikipedia.

Now I’ll recommend some Visual Novels for people who are just starting out. They will be sorted by categories.

For those of you who don’t know if they want a VN with a bunch of sex in for their first one we have:

Ever 17 ~Out of Infinity~

Ever17 is the tale of seven individuals who come to be trapped 153 feet within the underwater marine theme park, LeMU. During an apparently normal day at the park, a massive accident happens, placing almost half of the facility underwater. The path to the surface and the communication lines are cut off. In addition, LeMU is under constant assault by severe water pressure, limiting time to find a means of escape to 119 hours. Escape is not the only concern, however; many questions arise as to the legitimacy of the accident and whether or not those trapped there were brought there for a purpose.

This VN has a lot to offer. It has quite a bit of endings, and once you get all of the endings, you can then unlock a special True Ending. The characters are all mostly lovable. More Info Here

For those that want a bit of Action, Role-Playing, and Strategy. We have:

Utawarerumono

Hakuoro, who one day is found by a family of two girls and their grandmother in a nearby forest close to their village. He is badly injured and is soon found to have amnesia, so they take him to their home and treat him until he is well again. Hakuoro is soon accepted into their village where he stays and lives with them, but before long Hakuoro finds that life in this village is being oppressed by the greedy emperor who rules over the country their village resides in. Soon after, these negative actions taken towards their village result in him leading a rebellion against the emperor of the country which later lands him to become emperor of a vast new country which is named Tusukuru, after the well-respected woman who helped saved his life.

Utwarerumono has an awesome story, characters, and setting. The battle system is easy and fun. And the sexual content is well made. More Info Here

For those that want just plain Silliness with serious tone. We have:

Clannad

Tomoya Okazaki is a third year high school student resentful of his life. His mother passed away from a car accident when he was younger, causing his father to resort to alcohol and gambling. This results in fights between the two until Tomoya’s shoulder is injured in a fight. Since then, Tomoya has had distant relationships with his father, causing him to become a delinquent over time. While on a walk to school, he meets a strange girl named Nagisa Furukawa who is a year older, but is repeating due to illness. Due to this, she is often alone as most of her friends have moved on. The two begin hanging out and slowly, as time goes by, Tomoya finds his life shifting in a new direction.

This next is whats commonly called “Kinetic Novel” meaning that is are no choices in the game. So sit back and enjoy that sad but awesome story of:

Planetarian -The Reverie of a Little Planet-

An uninhabited, sealed off city, abandoned 30 years ago after a sudden biochemical warhead strike. The deserted ruins are ruled by autonomous battle drones.

And there, you meet a young woman whose name is Reverie. A member of the planetarium’s help staff who continued to wait for customers for thirty years. A broken robot…

It is a pretty short story only lasting about 3 hours or so. But, It’s story and characters are all very well done. More Info Here.

For those who want silly sex. We have:

The Sagara Family

You are Yusuke, a Japanese youth about to enter college in Tokyo. When your father suggested that you live with the family of a friend of his while you attend school, you didn’t really have an opinion one way or the other.
